Indonesian Internet Late in Third ASEAN

Compared to neighboring countries in the ASEAN region, where the position of Indonesian internet connection speed? It turns out the picture is not so encouraging.

Of the 10 countries members of the association of Southeast Asia, Indonesia was only an internet connection faster than the Philippines and Laos.

Based on data from the Household Download Index famous Ookla Speedtest.net as a service provider, the period beginning March 7 until April 2014, Indonesia is a country with an internet connection terpelan third in Southeast Asia with an average speed of 4.1 Mbps.

The data is summarized and processed into infographics by ASEAN DNA, as can be seen in the figure below.



The Household Download Index gained information from Ookla Speedtest test results in all regions of the world during the last 30 days. The data shown represent the value of the site service moving average.

It seems that other countries, such as Malaysia, Vietnam, Myanmar, and Cambodia, have recorded speed Internet access is higher than Indonesia.

The first position is held by Singapore with a speed of 61 Mbps, then Thailand in second place with 17.7 Mbps.

Indonesian internet access speed is below the ASEAN average of 12.4 Mbps, while the average global internet speed has reached the range of 17.5 Mbps.

Where the position of Indonesian Internet connection speed on a global scale? Of the 190 countries in the list of Household Download Index, Indonesia is in the order of 148.
